How to recover your ubuntu bootmenu ????

Most common used OS is windows and by far no one can argue about it either , and not many wanna try different OS like Mac-OS , or one of those many Linux flavors which are available for free. But some do try and dual boot ie. have two or more OS on their single hard disks.             So those who dual boot usually have windows pre installed then try new OS on their HDD.            And my observation is that most Linux flavors are very friendly in cases of dual boot. Many would have observed at the end of installation , the grub loader is installed and it detects other OS on the HDD and adds them to its boot menu.  What is Boot Menu???    Boot menu is the one that displays all your available OS choices during startup.       And as usual the egoistic and competition oriented windows OS doesn't do this operation when compared to Linux flavors.      So there is no problem faced when one installs linux flavours after windows installation as the grubbootloader loads all O

In the era of social networks , and the competition between Google+ and Facebook going on strong , the one advantage is the users get the new and the best.      Facebook on 21 july 2011 added a new feature. The facebook fan page posted this: Today we are launching a commenting feature that allows you to embed videos, photos, or web sites in comments just by including a URL. Your comment will include a video player, a thumbnail of a photo, or a brief overview of the web site being linked to. If you prefer your comment without the preview, you can remove the preview with one click.  All you have to is paste the required link and facebook embeds the link into your comment. Works same as posting links and videos on walls. Simple and effective. As you see , my blog www.sourabhkrao.co.cc has been embeded in the comments.

Does Ubuntu 11.04 drain ur battery faster than Windows 7???

Image
The linux kernel 2.6.38 and higher versions have a serious power consumption problem. It consumes more than normal power and hence a shorter battery life and causes the laptop to heatup fast.                  This problem was noticed by phoronix . and can be easily noticed if you recently migrated from Windows platform to the linux ubuntu platform.             Here is a workaround you can implement to get the best out of your laptop battery..                 The instructions below will force Active-State Power Management to be enabled by editing the GRUB2 config file and while this should work for most computers, it will not work for all. Also, Phoronix notes that " if your system's BIOS/hardware is in bad shape, you may hit system hangs " though it seems this is not something very common: 1. To force Active-State Power Management to be enabled, you must edit the GRUB2 config file so open a terminal and copy/paste this:   gksu gedit /etc/default/grub 2. T

13th July 2010 - A Day to Remember

Image
Today is a special day for me, Y is it special?? It was like a year ago on this very day I fell in love. Yes I clearly and emotionally remember the height of senses at that instant. The heart beats, the sweating, the shyness, the fidgeting, the anxiousness, the awkwardness, the happiness, the first words etc. (crap this feelings could go on!!!). In every small emotion I feel her. The moment I saw her, the moment I spoke to her, the moment I looked her in her eyes, the moment she smiled, the moment she sat next to me, the moment I had to leave. These strong feelings all in a space of five minutes is what I call love. ” Pure Love at First Sight “.             Later after months I proposed her. And just like that she rejected me and she moved on with her life leaving me deserted in the middle of nothing. I was left with myself and her memories. I honestly found it very hard to move on. But I did move into nights of sleeplessness, lack of concentrations, bad temper, smokin

How to root your android???

Rooting is just the same as jail breaking iOS. Basically it means giving you the super user privileges. Once your android is rooted you can run apps that require lower level systems permission  and changes of your os.   Caution “ROOTING IS NOT ILLEGAL, BUT CERTAINLY VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY “ 1.        Check which version of android your running. 2.        If you are unlucky and running v2.1 aka Éclair. I’m sorry I’ve dealt with v2.2 or above only. 3.        For v2.1 you’ll have to downgrade to v2.0.1 and follow a series of steps manually. 4.        Or one could try simple one click root tools like z4root etc. 5.        Problems faced are all phones are not supported by one click tools. So before rooting Google “Phone Model + version + root “. 6.        For people using v2.2, z4root works fine for software version v10a , v10b. 7.        I couldn’t root my optimus one v10c using z4root. 8.        Universally gingerbreak apk works fine for all software versions. So once you have

Google+ Vs Facebook

On 30 th June released another social network. No No not the Mark Zuckerberg movie. A real social network. Named Google +. With this release Google the giant is trying again to invade the social networking market. This time with Google+. It’s implicitly means Google + you. By you they mean you, your relationships, and your interests. So last time they did it with Orkut. When Orkut was released the market already had so many social networks like MySpace, Hi5, Friendster etc. but this time around there is only one dominant player in the market. It’s Facebook!! So what is special about Google+? Can it give Facebook a run for its money and user connections? Technically seeing Google+ is nothing but integration of some existing Google services into a social network format. The only new feature that is found is Hangouts. So its clear Google+ is just like Facebook. Yeah to an extent yes. What makes Google+ a better social network is its user interface design. It looks very simple to use and
